do you have reference photos I can download in your online courses?
I miss you and your videos, I love your painting, please keep doing it ❤
omgosh , just beautiful, wow, love your sketchbooks!😊
Patrick was kind to help me six years ago. He was a great teacher. Thank you for your lesson. I was a bad student. I still struggle with painting landscapes. Patrick had some very talented students or subscribers. I was in awe of many of them. My photo reference was of Mount Sneffels in the Colorado San Juan mountain range. The photographer was the skilled Adam Schallau. I believe Patrick moved his channel to oil painting. I hope he is doing well. I love these Fall aspens. I wish I could do them justice with my watercolors. Alright, I need to give this painting another go...
My honest opinion - your painting is absolutely Gorgeous!! I love it! I would like to get lost in this picture for a few hours... I'd have this on my lounge wall if you offered!! Completely beautiful and right up my street! Thank you! Subscibed to your great channel! Love, Mel in Devon 🍰🌻
I frequently struggle with the "when to stop" ...but the detailing, particularly with eyes, can really make the personality shine through. And when it's right it draws you in. It's a beautiful portrait. Thank you for sharing.
I've probably seen this video 8 to 10 times over the years and it still gives me immense pleasure watching you paint Patrick. Your painting channel is sorely missed.
Gréât vidéo ! Very interesting and informative!
See You Tube videos by Andrew Pitt, English watercolorist. Equal to, if not better than Charles Reid!
Very lively and loose.
Subject is too far away to actually see what is going on.
Would really help me personally if I could see the reference you’re looking at while you draw
Enter Islam and success
I really love your art and themes
Giant photo doesn’t need to be there. Totally distracting.
I'm sincerely impressed-kudos to you!
Are you selling all rights in the artwork?? Including the buyer's right to reproduce and sell unlimited copies?? Might want to check if you're automatically protected by copyright law, or need to say something more, or don't care. Otherwise your artwork might go commercial at some greeting card company without any compensation to you, the original artist.
We have all missed you Patrick hope your holiday was fun and productive. please could you tell me what software you use to upload your videos ,as I am thinking of joining RUclips , but haven't a clue how I go about it.
Hooray! You're back!
You repeatedly say and "so I end up with a mess". Does that mean you throw it away and try again?
Beautiful!!
I love this video, i hope you had a great holiday, & i will look for your new videos, when we go out i always take photos but rarely have any success in recreating them in paintings , thank you , i have painted alone with you. ❤❤❤❤❤
What is your name please
Really enjoyed watching your beautiful video. How do I get on your website to try and do your painting. Buildings and Trees please.❤
Tanks for the video you look like a good person its nice to listen to you hopefully i can learn from you 👍🙂
Thank u
But the book is by Angela Gair..
Such a good recommendation and interesting video, prompting me to order a copy. Thank you.
❤❤❤👍
Please stop using music. You are losing your audience.
Beautiful!😊
Thank you very much.
good just what I need, thanks for help aloha from the Islands Lilla
That’s good to hear. Happy painting!
The colors are very nice
Many thanks
I was wondering how you have been lately…. Nice to hear from you
I’m fine thank you. I hope all is well with you.
I need to try the general outline method. I think it will help me. Your trip sounds great. Hope you and yours have a great weekend too. My husband went out for golf today, they have a lot of fun.
Looking forward to getting away. We just need the weather to be a little dryer. Such a wet winter. Our local river (River Severn) has burst its banks numerous times this year! I used to play golf years ago, my favourite hole was the 19th! May well get back into it when I retire. I Hope he had a good round.
He always has a good time with his friends. It does make retirement fun.
Think you made the drawing method look like like old Etcher Sketcher, if you can remember that toy. Much harder to an outline like that. Not many could do it. I prefer the rough shape sketch, and paint the detail way. Still enjoyable if you can get it right first time.
Oh yes I remember the Etcher Sketcher they were great fun. Absolutely understand what you’re saying regarding sketching. Outlining often helps me forget the complexity of what I’m drawing that’s why it works for me. But not always.
Love your style!
Thank you lisa
Nice - so love your loose style. Thanks for thinking to share even a quick sketch...
Thanks Allison. Hopefully off to the Scottish isles camping and painting in May, something a bit more interesting then.
So nice 👍🏻 😊
Thank you Tony
Actually lifting out the highlight in the eye looks more natural than a stark white highlight because just the hint of color left gives more depth. Imo.❤
Thank you for your comment. I was was surprised how easy the colour lifted out. I did the same on the nose for a subtle highlight.
Dogs are such loving creatures, this painting says that to me. ❤️
Absolutely right . Miss our Toby so much.
Language smanguage. Pooey on those that policed your speech. I wonder if they actually paint or just watch others because I know very few artists that don't get frustrated and throw a fit. It's real life. Thank for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you Kelly. Things do get a little tense at the easel at times 😀
Your sketchbook is so beautiful
It’s great to look back through sketchbooks. So many happy memories.
Thanks for this painting Patrick. It may just have solved a few problems I had with painting…😊 Love your work. Doug & Di, Australia
Your more than welcome. I hope it’s of some help. I don’t often get viewers from Australia, what a fantastic country to live and paint. Hopefully one-day I’ll make the trip. All the best.
Very nice!
Thank you 😀
Nice train, that's one of my favorite brushes too.😊
Agreed, it’s a great brush soft detail and creating texture.
Thanks for visiting with us while you paint, enjoyed very much.
Thank you. 😀
Patrick, lost track of you; so happy to find you today.
Thank you very much. It’s great being back and making videos again.
Want to see more reflected light. That’s tough to do convincingly with watercolor.
I’m so glad you’re back! I’ve been tempted to unsubscribe figuring you stopped. I hope you’ve been well and the break wasn’t a serious season of challenge. I am a YT creator as well and have had seasons of creative blocks. Your videos really helped me grow in my watercolor skill so I look forward to your new emphasis to stay challenged and fresh.
I’m pleased you didn’t unsubscribe. I have another video I’m putting up later today I’m feeling my way back into things slowly it’s all a bit of a challenge but fun. I hope things are going well for you. I will check out your channel. All the best.
